TR2/3/3A Trunnions oil leak

OK, so I pressed the "I believe" button and on my new trunnions have gone with oil. Upon installing new zerk fittings on new trunnions and oiling, have (almost predictably) seen a slow weeeping of oil out of the zerk. A drop an hour or so, but it surely won't last the 3000 miles between oiling. Weeps more when turning due to the pressure spikes. Car still up on blocks.
One other point: I've also shifted to poly bushings, including the upper trunnion shroud/seal so theoretically shouldn't use petroleum based lubes.

Opinions on what to do welcomed-- Jim

I've said it many times before, the TR2-4 trunnions are not designed to be used with oil. The TR4A-6 use a completely different design that is totally sealed. Fill them with grease, they'll still outlast the other components if serviced on schedule.

If the grease rots the poly seals, you can replace them with ones more suited to the purpose.

If it is really the zerk leaking, I guess you could try another new zerk. They should hold oil just fine. But my guess is that the bottom plate is what is actually leaking, and the oil is just running down and dripping from the zerk. The joint between the plate & casting is not sealed, just crimped together. Some of them even leak a bit of grease (which doesn't hurt anything).
