Trunnion oil

Any high quality grease, which is what the factory manual recommends in a couple of places. It will always hold its own against water if you are unlucky enough to get caught in heavy weather. And maybe freshen it up with a shot every 6 months.

Factory British Leyland shop manuals DO NOT recommend grease...use 90w gear oil...Using any grease will COMPACT the internal part of the front trunnion & wear it out.
And when its cold the grease will harden up & seize & crack it.
Good luck
KenM (WhiteLightning Products)

I used Mobil Red Synthetic, which two local hot rod frame shops highly recommended for trunnions. Remember, I said synthetic, not regular grease.

But of course British Leyland didn't build TR3s.

I think you will find that the manual calls for grease to be used in TR3 trunnions.
