TR2/3/3A Tropical metal fan for TR3

I believe that I have a metal tropical fan. There are four oval shaped mounting wholes. When placed on the fan hub only two of the four holes can be aligned. Is it necessary to drill two additional wholes in the hub to mount the fan?
 
I forget what that's off of (Volvo maybe), but it's not an original Triumph "tropical" fan. So yes, if you want to use it, you'll need to drill the extra holes. Preferably with some accuracy, so the fan doesn't run off-center.
