It's now actually called "Federal Standard 595 Color FS 12197"
(I'm sure that was on the tip of your tongue.)
Commonly known as International Orange (Engineering), it's the color used on the Golden Gate Bridge. For an interesting read, look up why that color was chosen for the bridge.
At the time the world's longest suspension bridge, it was opened to the public on May 27, 1937 - so this Sunday is its 75th anniversary.
The night before it opened, three high school buddies decided they wanted to be the first to walk across it. So Edgar Stone, Marshall Weigel and Stuart Greenberg camped out and were the first to walk across the bridge the following morning. Here's a picture of the guys just after they arrived on the other side.
I was gonna call it Geranium. looks like the original paint that was on the TR2... But I agree with Bill, looks even more like the primer on TRs.
