Triumphest 2011

Triumphest 2011 in Big Bear Lake, Ca.was a huge success. There were 146 registrations and over 250 people who, literally, took over the Northwoods Resort. The Funcours car show, LeMans Start Contest, Sponsor & Vendor Displays, Hospitality Party, and Awards Banquest were held at the hotel. The autocross and funkhana were held at Big Bear Airport and there was a bout tour of the lake starting at Pine Knot Marina on the Miss Liberty. Additionally there were scenic drives and a fun rally on the surrounding roads.
A super time was had by all.
See www.triumphest2011.com for additional info and pix.

Well done Bob!

Yes, I agree is was a terrific time. It is fun but never restful- so much to do. I guess that is why I always take Monday off- to recover from the event. It was fun being at the resort where everyone spoke "Triumph."

Shameless thread-jack here:

Can anybody give me some information on the "robin's egg" blue TR4 on the left side of the first photo? Mine is painted just that color, and I haven't had much luck finding out what color/paint code it is.

Apologies for the off-topic nonsense. On subject, great pictures, looks like a really nice weekend for a great show.

Cheers,

John

I don't know for sure but from a distance that looks like Herman Van Den Akker's TR250. You can contact him through his website Herman's page

Hmm... According to the pdf file "Dutch Treat" on his website, his 250 (I stand corrected) is a Mack Truck color...

Thanks for the link, Rich.

Triumpfest was great! Many beautiful cars and the location was awesome! 450 miles each way, I don't know about Flagstaff next year.

Congratulations to BOB MUZIO,
For the "Digger Davit Award" for spirit of the event. Without Bob the Triumphest would not have been as grand as it was!! Thank you Bob we really apperciate your hard work. There is more info on the 2011 Triumphest web site.

That TR belongs to Tom Butler of Southern California Triumph Club (SCTOA) believe it's actually a 250 without badging & trim. Not sure whether or not he lurks BCF but will ask when I see him. Bob & his crew did an outstanding job with Triumphest 2011 still sorting pics/editing video clips for uploading 10/1 on my website.

Nancy & I did Breckenridge and Big bear .....

And had a good time at VTR but a SUPER time at Big Bear.

Bob, You and your team outdid yourselves.
Autocross and Funcana (how do you spell Funcana???)
on the "West Coast Five" budget was quite an
accomplishment, as were all of the activities.

Nancy & Frank Conklin !!

Herman's 250 is a Mack Truck Colour; Hey, my TR3A
is a Helms Bread Truck Colour.
How many of you remember the stand-up battery operated
short wheel-base narrow-track Helms Bread Trucks??. The bakery
was on Vermont but the trucks were housed somewhere (close by)else.

I do! Our truck was a Chevy panel wagon. We lived out in the "sticks" in Chino so the battery operated trucks would never make it out. Great memories, we always looked forward to him showing up.

We too had the Helm's panel wagons that did our deliveries.

Thanks to all for their appreciation of the event and the efforts put in by all of the many volunteers in TRSC who contributed to the success of Triumphest 2011.
