Hi All,

Was flipping thru the TV lookidy box a few nights ago and Diamonds are forever was on
it looked like in the beginning that Mr. Bond as he was impersonating some other bloke was driving a Stag

Is this correct ??

Thx,

Thanks for clearing that up Dave
and the heads up on the IMCDB

I bought the complete box set of the Rockford Files last year and there are hundreds of interesting cars in those shows. I am now working on a time machine so I can go back to 1970s California. I'll let you know when it is working!

Quite a few interesting ones also show up on the old Mission Impossible series.

The lead character in "Counterstrike" drove a TR6. An alien with superior intelligence.

And I thought they only drove Fords in Mayberry!
Even as a kid/teenager, that always fascinated me about that show. And pretty much every year, Sheriff Taylor had a brand-new Ford Police car. He must have put a lot of miles on running over to Helen Crump's place. But yeah, it seemed that 98% of the cars in Mayberry were made by FoMoCo....

When there was a promotional tie in with a movie or TV show in those days there was usually a stipulation that the sponsoring company's cars could not be used by villians. Often this included even old beaters, which were not allowed to be the same brand as the sponsors.

For instance in The FBI, the bad guys never drove Fords. If someone was a "witness" or a "suspect" in the show, you could tell whether they were guilty of a crime or not if they were shown driving a car. Riding and/or driving in a Ford meant they were innocent. If they drove a VW you knew they were at least an accomplice. God help the poor slob shown driving a Chevy! :nonod:
