Does anyone know if the book, "Triumph TR-6 Performance: Parts, Sources and Procedures for the Enthusiast", by Author John P. Fitzgerald is still available? I tried to find Mr. Fitzgerald using Netscape white pages and had no luck at the address shown in a web site. Copy of the review below:

"Triumph TR-6 Performance: Parts, Sources and Procedures for the Enthusiast
· Author: John P. Fitzgerald
· Price: $15 US
· Availability: Direct from author, at:
1552A Forrest Villa Lane
McLean, VA 22101
USA
· Review: (by Larry Bickel)
Around 1990 I purchased a performance manual Triumph TR-6 Performance: Parts, Sources and Procedures for the Enthusiast, copyright 1989 from a John P. Fitzgerald, which covers all the right parts to put on your TR6 to make it go better. I bought it for my TVR 2500, which has the TR6 driveline. It is a well-written spiral bound booklet of 34 pages and has three main sections- Suspension Modifications, Engine and Driveline Modifications, and Triple Weber DCOE 40 Conversion. The writer includes explanations of his own mistakes and corrections and a list of suppliers. It was well worth the $15 I paid for it even though none of the suspension mods (except for the limited slip differential section) applied to my car. I highly recommend this manual, even if you are not modifying your TR6 but I would see if it is still available from him at that address."

Thanks to all.

Hi,

I Googled this a little and found some indications that this might have been reprinted in 1996, too, if that helps. Didn't find any sources, but you might keep trying.

As an alternative, I might suggest Roger William's books, which are very current and well-written. I have his "How to Improve..." covering the 4-cylinder models and I reference it often.

There is also William's "How to Improve..." covering the 6-cylinder models. I plan to pick it up eventually.

I recommend shopping Amazon.com for new or used copies. Prices are much better than eBay.

Hope this helps. Meanwhile, I maybe someone can point you to a copy of that particular book.

Hi Alan,

Nice name!

Thank you for the info. Incidentally, I bought the books you mentioned and found them to be very interesting. They do not go into detail about modifications, however. For example, the triple Weber conversion is mentioned, but the "how" is not covered.

Hi again,

Attached is a general file on selecting and jetting Webers that might help.

The Haynes Weber manual is useful for general installation guidelines and has specific initial jetting info for stock TR250/6 motors. Still, a dyno session or some time with an exahust gas analyzer will most likely be needed to properly dial in the carb setup on your car.

Cheers!

For good reason.......

Hi again Alan,

If you are unable to find the Fitzgerald book, perhaps you could expand a little upon what info you are looking for. We might be able to help.

I found another Weber-related page on the Internet, this time more specific to TR6. It's attached to this post (as a pdf).

Hope this answers some of your questions.

Hi Alan,

Thank you for your efforts. Yes, I later posted the same question on the 6-Pack forum, but no replies yet. At this time, I am just looking for performance information based on the experiences of others before I start the big project. Incidentally, I had asked about Weber jetting on the 6-Pack forum and did get a couple of good responses resulting in two sets of proven successful jetting and some excellent advice about fuel pumps and fuel regulators, the former of which I did overlook.

Maybe this is a good place to ask Britishcarforum members about their Weber experiences and how those who were successful accomplished their installation.

Alan
