Hello Triumph fans,

For some inexplainable reason I have fallen in love with the Triumph Stag, so the hunt is on.

I know about the engine troubles, but is there anybody here who can give me some pointers what to look for when inspecting potential candidates?

And to top it all off, does anybody know about any Stags for sale?

BritCarFan,
Email me (address is in my profile) and I'll respond to your questions. Can also send pics of a Stag that may be available.

Hi BritCar Fan,

Our Exec VP is right up the road from you in Brick NJ. He can tell you all you need to know. that would be Wayne Simpson - Staghunter@comcast.net

What condition do you want? Ready to drive or restorable base? Our South East Club Director is selling his, fully restored and well tested. See it on the VTR.org and TSCUSA.org classified listings

/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/angel.gif But I must tell you that when you get bit by the Stag, you get terminally infected with the LBC disease called "gotta'aveone-o-more". Completely incurable it is. It's the "o-more" part of the disease that can be fatal, with the only inoculation being that your significant other catches the disease either at the same time, or within a few days of the showing of symptoms. The other dangerous exposure is if you actually heard that Stags V8 burble - or any other Stags burble, then you are really screwed as it results in immediate spontaneous infection. It is more completely consuming than the Sirens heard by Ulysses.

If you get to Valley Forge VTR 2007, you will even be able to pet a few. But be prepared, bring your significant other and any little ones so they all catch the disease at the same time.

And if our President has anything to say about it, there will even a be a "Ride the Stag" event so you can experience one yourself. Anyone interested in a Stag ride, track any one of the TSC USA officers or members down and I am sure they will be more than willing to share some of their enthusiasm and experience, maybe even a ride or a drive.

Falling in love with a Stag is like falling in love with a hooker.

I whispered that comment so that the Stag guys in the above posts wouldn't hear me.

They are beautiful but they will break your heart.

I thought it was that they will take all your money and leave you outside in the rain. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

Seriously folks, we do know how to make these very reliable and relatively inexpensive to maintain in the original factory configurations. But you gotta learn how and get support from those who know these cars. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif
