Having just discovered the beautiful Triumph Italia 2000 GT in pictures I am interested in seeing one in person. I understand from some friends that the GA Triumph club has some but are there any in SC around the coast?

I have a TR4A and a MGA that I think are beautiful designs but the pictures of the Black one and the Silver one I saw looked better than any other LBC I have ever had my eyes on.

Not sure what they are worth other than looking at Hagerty but WOW I think I want one instead of a Big Healey!

Cheers,
Irene

Cheaper to buy the Healey.......the Italia go for unreal money but to me I think they are right up there with a Ferrari for looks! Love Them! There was one in Bridgewater Auto for years in Massachusetts that just disappeared one day and who knows if the owner moved it to keep everyone from asking what it is or trying to buy it.

Here are a few photos of the 2 Italias that made their appearance at the 2012 Toronto International Auto Show. Not my shots, but borrowed from other forum members

Of course, if you want your own Italia, you can put one together using Revington TR's alloy body recreation.

Cost for the complete body is just shy of 35k pounds, but with that cost, you should be able to put one together for less money then an original. Of course, some of the trim pieces might cause some problems.

Also, here's the story of Revington TR's Italia ... Apparently they also offer complete, modernized versions of the car. Most likely at a very hefty price.

There was one for sale on ebay a few months ago... it needed a complete resto and never sold as I recall.

I agree, great looking car, kind of TR4 meets Ferrari. I had fleeting thought of turning my TR6 into a clone.

Guys thanks for all the pictures and info. Nice idea to redo a TR6 to look like the Italia but I bet it would be very costly and I don't want a replica no matter how nice they are.

My husband is going to shoot me (not really) if I start expanding my "fleet" as he calls the little collection. Of course from what you are saying is I will need a lot of money to get one in driving condition. I still want to find someone close by that has one that will let me see it.

Cheers to all,
Irene

The Red one in both sets of photos is Dave Hutchison's car from Ragtops and Roadsters.

Had to step back and take a breath. These cars are rare and pricey but I still want one. I have been in touch with a couple of owners who are more than happy to share what they know about the Italia. I hope to see one in person soon and may need to convince my son to go in with me on one!

Please pass on anything else about these cars that you come across.

Cheers,
Irene

If it's the same as the one on BaT I PM'd her the link

It is the same one and I called them right after I got over choking on my coffee......I think the poor guy that answered the phone thought I had OD'd on coffee after talking to me for a few minutes. Wish I could say I am the happy new owner of a beautiful Italia but alas my car stash pocketbook does not hold enough cash at this price! Great owner history and documentation and may be worth a trip to see my niece in Orlando.

We had one stop by one of our sports car club meetings in Spartanburg a few years ago. It was every bit as beautiful as you could imagine. I had a shot at one back in the 70s, but it sold too fast.
