Post-War Other Triumph 1800 short article in auto week link

Thanks Harry, and hope you have time to look at mine (a 2000) Just click on my webshots. Wayne

I've always been a fan of the 1800/2000. They are fun cars to own and show -- as any owner of one has told me. Sure, they're not sports cars in the TR fashion, but they are just fine for back road motoring.

Wayne,

The 2000 looks great! Looks like a lot of sweat equity went into that based on the photos? Is there a story behind the acquisiton (noticed the pre-restore starting location) and did you do all the work other than the upholstery? Very impressive!

Thanks again Harry, I have had the car since 1973 and did a bit of work on it at that time, but as you can see I went full bore this time and it still took 3 years and 2 of those were wanting on chrome or fixing what they broke. I did have some one do the seats and side panels from the orginals and the top was a consolidated effort by me and the upholstery guy. I had a 2000 in England in the late '60's and my MG TA and could only bring one back at that time, so I sold the Roadster and regretted it when the guy pulled off, so I sent the wife back to see her folks in '72 and she found this one, only it was not for sale and the guy told her if she would leave him alone he would give her first refusal. Well, in about a year he saw her mom and told her to tell your daughter she could have it. A check was in the mail the next day and Bert Harold took care of the shipping. He was one of the charter members in the Roadster Club and a good friend, he is missed by many. That's the name of that tune, as they say. Wayne

Thanks for the link Harry! I hope someday my car will look as good as Wayne's. He has been a great resource for me in my restoration. Working on my garage now so I can work in comfort this winter. Pictures later in the week.

Paul
