Triumph 10

Need at trustable person to go look for me.

Some of those pictures look worthy of a bigfoot sighting! Sorry, don't live anywhere near NM. Always liked the TR10 wagons though. Ever since my grandmother told me the story of how she brought one home from the dealer in spite because she was mad that my grandfather went out and bought a TR3A without asking her. "If he can have a new Triumph, so can I!" /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Mine's almost roadworthy! Just waiting for the tranny to come back from the rebuilder. You'll find it shares parts with Mk1 spittys and heralds. I did find a shop manual for the standard 8/10 and it has been fairly easy to work on.

Exactly! So, within some limits, it means one can "upgrade" a 10 to make it a wee bit more useful in today's traffic. The one in NM looks to have great potential, considering it's likely pretty much rust-free; that's a big plus on a unibody car like the 10.

This car on eBay is exactly two numbers off another one I have listed on my Database web site. Both appear originally to have been the delightfully period "Coffee" inside and out. (It's one of my favorite colors, although I might be about the only person who still likes that color! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif )

You're the owner of the "other one"! I particularly like the engine picture.

Note to self, don't try and sell a car using a cheap camera phone to take the pictures... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

maybe the engine was actually running when that picture was taken .............

Looks like i'm going to win the bidding. It's going to cost more to ship it to California than it is to buy it.

I will be retiring soon and can go pick it up come March, anyone know of a storage facility in either Albuequerque, El Paso, or Las Cruces?

OK, it's mine.

Awesome! I'm jealous. Ok, I need another car like a hole in the head, but I'm still jealous. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif Good luck with it!

Ya, My only problem is that I need to get rid of my Rover, and figure out where I will keep my new project.

Congratulations on the car. They are really neat litle cars. I remember them from a dealership in Farmington,CT.

Enjoy, Tinkerman

I paid $1k for mine off craig's list. So you got a pretty good deal I think. Mine is xxx515, so we're almost related!

I agree that the NM car seems to be a good deal, even if only for the presumably rust-free body. And with commission numbers only 2 apart (and both cars appearing originally to have been the same colors inside and out), they almost certainly were virtually next to each other (or one in front of the other) on the assembly line. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

I guess mine sat on the lot for 2 years, as it is registered as a 1961 and yours xxx515 is a 1959.

Andy, looking at the data here and the data on the SMC website, it looks like you know of several 10s clustered around 55500. Fluke or statistical anomoly?

I guessed on the year based on a chart for the Standard 10 giving commision numbers to model years, maybe its different for US titles? I'll try and scan the page and upload it tonight.
