HI, I just got some Tripod headlamps from Moss they are not halogen. Should I keep them or send them back and get halogen. They look good but cost a lot.

This is why I've never bought them. They look cool as anything, but cost alot. Also, there's an older thread on here about how they may not perform as well as more ordinary headlights.

I just installed Moss's tripods on my 78B and loved'em. But you are correct - they don't come with halogen bulbs and are quite dim compared to the sealed beam halogens they replaced. Thats why I spent the extra ($$) for the halogen bulbs made for the Tripod.

Moss PN #170-695 & cost about $20 each.

In stalled the Halogen bulbs & now I really love the tripods. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Bret in the moss cat. page 17, 170-695 halogen will not work in PL700 tripod but are you saying it will work in the P700 that Moss sells also page 17.
I called Moss tec. 2 times and have not got a answer.

Yup! They work with the P700s & just popped right in without any problem.

Boy they look nice. In fact just lovely.

If it's maximum (legal) light you're after, get some Cibie 7" lenses and fit 'em with stock or +50% 60/55W halogens (along with a dedicated, relayed power source).

You won't be disappointed, trust me.
