True they ain't cheap but my set are the plain P700 ones without the PL in the center and are a little cheaper.

Only problem is that the tripod headlamps ain't as bright as the regular headlamps. But I think they look cool so who cares. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
I like em`, been thinkin of getting some for at least one of my B's, just to try them out. I don't drive at night all that much so light output isn't a big deal.....Now I've only got a few hundred other projects to finish before this ever gets done.
BTW: That b's looking great Bret....love the lisence plate! Get some tire shine or something on those bumpers though.

[/ QUOTE ] Thanks for the kind words. As for the B she still needs a good clean-up & some detailing after her four month hibernation under the car cover in the Garage. But I plan on working on that hopefully this weekend if the long honey-do list doesn’t get in the way. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
As for the tripods' output at night. The out put isn’t that different from the stock lights it’s just that I did a side by side test in the garage when I put one of the tripods on and noticed the stock headlight was a little brighter. I did notice that the stock headlight had more defusers than the Tripods and I suspect that has the affect of giving off the illusion of a brighter light because its beam is more evenly distributed. But now we’re just picking technical hairs – I just think they’re cool lookin’. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Truth is I don't drive all that much at night either and those little amber (yellowish) fog lights under the bumper put out a lot of light and should be more than adequate for those not so well lit back roads. But should it be a concern - it only takes about 5 minutes to switch back.
Do those lights use H4 bubls? I see Vickey Brit has a set of tri-pod halogens that use H4 60W/55W halogen bulbs. I notice the Moss P700 kits doesn't state what type of bulbs it uses. Just curious here is all. I would figure that H4 halogens would be brighter than standard sealed beam lights.
Yeah I think I've got a few Wagners in some of the B's.... know the LE has mis-matched lights...I've been waiting for the things to burn out but they just won't give in,so I'll probably eventually break down and have to order 6 tripod style headlights and just go through all the B's....Wonder what the guys at MOSS will think?

My wife’s 4 Wheel Drive (serious off-road goodies) catalog lists a product called ‘Forever Black’ for the black plastic type bolt on fenders and other things they use to cover their massive tires (hers are about 11"x34". I haven’t tried any yet, but I’m going to order some because the fender extension look really oxidized after only one year. It says it works on plastic, rubber, or vinyl.
Has anyone ever tried this? The catalog’s name is ‘Quadratec’
never tried it myself... "Foaming Tire Cleaner" in a can worked well enough for my bumpers.... you know the stuff, spray it on, it foams and you leave it...
Never had any luck with the spray-on foaming stuff, as it almost always left streaks if you didn’t wipe it off. But even then it always seemed a way too shiny & kind of gaudy for my taste.
Personally I like a more of a clean & subdued shine that you get with Meguiar’s “Natural Shine” Vinyl & Rubber Protectant. In fact I just finished going over the bumpers & the tires and followed that up with some Mothers’ Instant detailer. Looks fantastic!

*shrug* I dunno, maybe my bumpers are just too darn weathered to beable to take anything else. It seems the Foaming tire cleaner stuff I've used in the past is the only stuff that'll keep my bumpers black for any substantial amount of time. Everything else just kind of absorbs into the bumpers and after a few hours it goes back to being greay... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif My bumpers seem so porous that they'll never "shine". That is unless I get on them with scrubbing pads to 'smooth' them out and paint them with something.
But back to the Tripods. I've thought about getting the H4 Halogen tripod head lights that I've been seeing in Vickie Brit's catalog for my car, but I kind of worry that the tripods will look out of place on a RB car. I'm still undecided.
The other H4 halogen headlights I've seen on Vickie Brit's catalog have a non-diffusing glass and the reflector dish is angular like you see on so many of the new cars these days. Those don't seem quite right for a RB B either.
I don't like forever black, or mothers Back to black. Didn't do a thing for my bumpers. But, I do like the meguiar's stuff, and sometimes, just some eagle 1 tire wet. wipe off the excess though, or it'll be all over the paint.
I got a bunch of samples of armoral 'tire shine gel'....it's pretty impressive stuff, I did my Caddy tires a week ago and their still shining....I did the entire TR6 interior with it a week ago as well, some of it was absorbed(car sits outside) but for the most part it still looks really good. Haven't tried it on the B bumpers yet, but when I do I'll report back.....It's pretty expensive stuff($9 CDN for a small squeeze bottle) but it's one of the best products out there(at least for me).
I have a buddy who has them on a spitfire. He swears by them. They usually are on sale in the winter catalog. My problem is my money keeps going someplace else. But, one common problem with dim headlights is a bad ground. Its a cheap fix to dim headlights.

Yeah I thought about that too – but it doesn’t make since in my case. Both of the stock lights where the same prior to the swap and both of the Tripods look the same as well. But prior to the swap I wanted to be sure there wouldn’t be a problem as I’ve been tripods aren’t as good as sealed beams. So to be safe I actually tested them with one of the Tripod lights & the normal stock light. While the tripod was noticeably dimmer it wasn't all that bad – so I don't think I have a grounding issue. But thanks - that was a great idea.
