looking to add a Porsche 912 to my "collection".
Have a TR4A that needs company.
Unfortunately, the car is in Mass. and I'm in Va.
Any recommendatuioins on a carrier ?
I have quotes from several, w/ Intercity the highest, but probably the most reliable.
Also, suggestions on how to handle the transaction; i.e., title for cashiers check; long distance ?
Thanks,
Steve

I had a Independant driver bring my car up from Florida (very relieable & resonable)costed me 600$ to Ct...

Make sure you get an enclosed trailer!!!!

Hi Steve - great choice on the latest addition to the collection. I've been looking for a decent 912 but everything I've found was either serious $$$ or a wreck (even by my notoriously optimistic standards - lol).

Many of the shipping companies are actually just brokers. Some people have used DAS with success, but I don't think any one company is universally loved. Plan to stay on top of the process.

And as always, make sure to send us pictures!

I finally gave up on the commercial carriers and took the train to San Diego and a cab to the car and drove the darn thing home.
I had fooled with the brokers for 6 weeks. Most of my problem was getting it the last 180 miles since we are not on an interstate. You would probably have better luck since you are in a more populated area.
The trip back with my J-H was an adventure that I'm glad I didn't miss.
Good Luck

Hi Steve,

I used Intercity to bring my TR cross-country. The service was superb. They did a complete check of the car with my far-end contact before loading, provided status en route, arrived within the hour they had indicated, and did another complete inspection with me on the receiving end. I'd use them again without hesitation.

Enjoy the 912. My TR3's stablemate is a Boxster, and the contrast is always fun.

Sean
