Transmission

So, I got my transmission back 2 weeks ago and it still doesn't work properly. The "ticking" is gone... Whatever...
It still will not shift into gear?? It will go into 2nd and 3rd, however, it will NOT go into 1st 2nd or reverse. Neutral is still spinning the output shaft when the front is turned by hand. I know that you are supposed to be able to shift when it is dry but I am going to:
A -- Pull the side cover off and try to shift manually.
B -- Fill her full of oil and hope for the best with the neutral issue.

I hope this works or it is back off to the guy that fixed what I had wrong.

2.7 pints, get one of those quart pumps at auto wherever, put the correct quanity in a quart oil container and pump it all, if you try to overfill it will come out the fill hole. Can get at fill hole from the drivers side plug on front of the transmission tunnel.

The output shaft will turn when you rotate the input shaft, but if you hold it, it will stop turning (even with slight resistance). That sounds like it is normal unless it still wants to turn while you are holding it!

I have always filled the tranny to the point at which the oil just reaches the overflowing point at the filler!
