against my will I'm bidding on a transmission on ebay-my soul would not let me rest(or maybe the devil?) until I bid on this. the twin cam guys think it's a twin cam but I have no experience-thankfully Maggie has never needed one-is there an expert out there with any experience as to what the differences might be? 56 minutes and counting...Randi

well it went for $451. & not to me. Sniff. I feel like I'm going to regret this one day......

Sorry Randi, I don't know enough about em to have been any help.
My reccomendation is to not buy anything on ebay witout first having researched what it is that you want to buy, so you know exactly what you're looking for and what to ask the seller. This way it's much less of a risk.
I can't tell you how many items I've seen mis-labled. Just from ignorance. Things that are very similar, and you just need to have knowlage of the little differences to save you from a costly mistake.
No regerts Randi! You'll find plenty more jewels.

Thankyou I was feeling pretty GLUM but I can't really afford it & mine works good- sooooo you are absolutely right......why do I feel like there is no Santa Claus????

Randi-

As I recall (which might not be so good, as it was a long time ago) the difference in the twin cams and Mark II was only in the rear end gearing...I think the trannies were the same...so no great loss, other than to say it came from another twin-cam. My buddy sold one to a guy who had a standard MGA anyhow...and it worked fine 35 years ago anyhow

You can sometimes find nice things at reasonable prices, but I wouldn't count on Santa Claus all year 'round, maybe the Easter Bunny in the spring, but you could end up with a seasonal Turkey, too....

The advice to research your needs and developing the ability to recognize what you want is better... be "good" and maybe Santa will come again....

I'm learning! Got my manifold for $9.99 and my SUs for $70 on ebay. But lost a couple things that I just wouldn't go another bid on. Now where's that 3 synchro OD?
