The car is a 1979 MGB with standard 4 speed( non Overdrive). Is there any tricks to refill the tranny. I am haveing a very hard time.

I use a large syringe and a piece of tubing. others use small pumps
 
I held the bottle and pumped a pump while my friend held the hose under the car so it wouldn't come out of the tranny. Its a fun 2 man job that way. We got the pump at Auto Zone.
 
I just refilled the gearbox myself this weekend and found the pump worked great. Be sure to tighten the drain nut, or you may drain your tranny drip by drip and not notice the loss.
