I know this has probably been discussed but... I am putting a good used tranny in my TR-6. I am cleaning the insides with parts cleaner. Then, a flush by putting in a quart or 2 of 10-30 non-detergent motor oil. Then gear lube. I can't find GL-4 80/90. I heard GL-5 is a no-no for the tranny as some of the additives attack some of the parts. What are the recommendations? Thanks, Perry

I run straight 30wt non-detergent motor oil (valvoline) with no problems. The guy that built my overdrive and added it onto my 4-speed said this is all I should use.

I'm running the Redline MTL right now in my 6, great stuff. Butter smooth shifts and cold shifting performance has been awesome. it is a thin fluid though, looks and flows more like ATF fluid than gear oil. If you have any questionable seals or gaskets in your box it will find it's way out pretty easily.
