Another A type OD transmission followed me home and I noticed that the trans. # had an "MB" prefix. Does anybody know if this is from a Stag or sedan? Outside of the input shaft pilot extending about a 1/2" from the front of the case, I don't see any other differences from other Tr6 cases. Any differences in the innards as far as strength? Also, the tag on the OD is blue, sorta like some of the MG OD plates. Berry

According to my magic decoder ring, MB would be a Triumph 2000 or 2000TC; sedan or estate. A Stag would have the OD solenoid turned sideways (I assume to avoid hitting the body).

I don't think the 2000 had internal changes (other than the input shaft obviously), but I really don't know. The Stag had Torrington bearings instead of thrust washers on the countershaft, but was otherwise identical (again except for the input shaft) to late TR6.
