MGB Transmission engine mounts and front engine mounts

I had a terrible time getting my new front motors to bolt up to the engine. I was able to get the single bolt (stud) on the back of the mounts into the frame rail slots but not all of the bolts into the engine. It was misaligned and would not go in. I suspected the rear, or transmission, mounts as the issue causing the engine to be 1/2" too far toward the rear. Sure enough found the transmission cross member was twisted severely from a crash some time in the past. Additionally the mounts for the transmission to the cross member were put together all wrong. After getting a new cross member, and assembling the mount correctly I put it back in the car. Then jacked up the motor and wala! the front motor mounts aligned perfectly and bolts installed in minutes. Live and learn again.
