Any Viet-Nam War vets remember this ?
I'm doing some research for the air museum, and got an inquiry from a gentleman who says he once flew on a military C-47 (R4D) named "Trans Paddy Airways" while on duty there back in the 1960s.
My research so far indicates Trans Paddy Airways may have been a non-official term for military transport in that area. I've seen it painted (in recent times) on a Marine Corps Seahorse, but can't find any references to a specific propeller aircraft.
Anybody remember that term? Did the term refer to a specific aircraft? or general Viet-Nam military transport? or ...?
Thanks.
Tom
