i haven't been able to find a tr8 shop manual so my shop manual vendor (i had one on order with them for about four months) contacted me and said that they could sell me a Heritage Motor Center TR7 & TR8 technical publications on cd. besides the normal tr7 manuals includes tr8 1980-81 parts fiche, 1981-81 repair operation manual, 1981 supplement, owners literature for 1978 TR8, 1980-1981 TR8, and fuel injection supplements for 1980 and 1981 model years. Total cost was less than $50 including shipping. I haven't figured out how to view it on my mac yet, but works on pc's.
 
They are hard to come by. I think Rimmer Bros offer a version of the factory manual. You can also keep a look out on Ebay. I was able to get mine there.
