Geee,my second lucas electronic ignition went south, can you believe it. any ideas for the right after market one. By the way, coming back from the lake today I had a Porsche 911 turbo on my tail, all two lane back country roads.Lots of fun.He showed a little more maturity than I. OR..maybe he was a little intimidated by the FAB sound coming out of my dual rolled end, chromed soil pipes and coool back pressure as I lifted off the loud pedal. The wife handled it with aplomb. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

We were just talking about that Lucas bug and ignition preference. I like MSD, Woody cooper likes another type. What are you going to go with this time? The V8 rumble is sweet. I have had people with cars whose insurance run more than my 8 cost new ask to drive it and admire the V8..

I am getting reday to order a Mallory from Woody for my 8 tomorrow. Ill let ya know.

If I had to buy one I would probably go woth what ever woody suggest, mine had the MSD. Only issue, I have never been able to get the Tach to work correctly. The MSD came with a box to covert it still did not work, I talked to Woody and said I needed a "modified Tach"so I bought one from him. Still does not work, It read at idle and up to 2000 RPM but then just dies. No idea what to try now

Hmm...........I will have to ask Woody about the tach issue. Wonder if your Mallory is the same model # Woody is currently using. Any idea on your exact model #?

I have a MSD, make sure you talk to him about it, I know it is an issue

Mine has a Crane unit with the stock distributor. Works fine. Though the original 27 year old coil did give up earlier this year.

So if I understand correctly, the Mallory replaces all the starting mechanisms correct?
