People are starting to ask those kinds of dollars -- one on hemmings at like $19k for a while now -- but don't appear to be getting it.

That said, I've seen fewer 8s for sale this year than previously. They are getting on 30 years old and might finally be getting rare enough for the market to go up as people have predicted for a long time now.

Eventually, these cars will be worth what Sunbeam Tigers are....Tigers just 3-4 years agoe were mid teens. Have doubled since then, more for pristine ones.
 
My acquisition at $4000 last fall seems a fine deal

The one in Charlotte (the $24k car) is a joke. It's been for sale for a LONG time by a "dealer" and it's modded all to heck.

The other one, at $18k has been for sale for a while too and is way high for what it is.

Has anyone seen one actually sell for more than $10 to $12k? I got mine as a 27k street car in 2001 (it became a race car as of 2003) for $7500.

There has been a TR8 FHC on PDX Craig's list within the last month for $7500.

Sounds about right - at least given what I paid recently...
 
I know of a few that have sold for around $15k in the last couple of years. You won't find the really good ones on craigslist or ebay. They are sold without ever really being up for sale. Most of the high dollar cars belong to people who own multiple TR8s. Just saw a gold one that was sold to a guy up in New Hampshire. Woody brokered the deal, and I think it was around $14K. Beautiful car! Woody is building a super car for a guy from Texas. He has somewhere around $30K into the car. The white one I am doing now has about $25K into it, and not one complaint from the guy who owns the car. The expensive TR8's are out there, but you have to be in the loop to know about them.
 
And mine is <span style="font-size: 26pt"> NOT </span> for sale! :hammer:
