Wedge TR8 Idler Bearing P/N?

I have the idler (Jockey) pulley out of the TR8.

This is the two groove pulley that runs between the A/C compressor and the main drive off the front of the engine.

The bearing in this is squeaking. I replaced it with a used unit and that one is worse. I though perhaps it was the belts, but it is not. It is in this bearing. I pressed it out of the pulley and pictures of it are below.

Any ideas where I can source this thing? I have never seen one like it....but I do not get out much

With that being said and now seeing that they are in China, you can probably find this through a bearing supply house here in the states. If you get in touch with Tom (mdllr), I think that he knows a guy who sells these kind of bearings. They are very similar to the water pump bearing used in a TR6.

EDIT: here is the link to the BCF Wiki that Tom created to replace the water pump bearings : BCF Wiki TR^ Water Pump Inspection

In the middle paragraph, you will see the name of this company. I think that you should call Harold and give him all of the measurements and the number on the bearing and you will be in business.

Harold Bishop’s HDRK CO, INC. IN Albany, Indiana. (765) 789-4406.

Rimmer Bros shows the whole assembly in stock. That's bearing, mount and pulleys. Part no ERC 6360. That's assuming the SD1 and the TR8 used the same pieces. No reason to assume otherwise.

Good luck and if they don't have it, call Harold.

NAPA called SKF for me and they say these are no longer stocked and no known substitution.

The bearing company that services our equipment found an NSK one that might work.

The dimensions are all the same, but the shaft out the front is 1.5" too long.

We work with a very good machine shop and they can cut that hardened shaft for us. So I ordered four of them to see what happens.

Stay tuned.
