I finally got a few days to work on my 8, I got the connecting rods facing the correct direction along with the caps.

Connected the trans to it and put the manifold on it and I figured I would finally turn the carb around since it was facing backwards since I bought it. I assumed it was a go fast trick but everyone said it was BS so I got tired of having to explain it so I turned it around.... and it does not fit, I need a spacer, the throttle linkage does not clear the manifold runner. How stupid is that? you woudl figure it woudl fit either way.

So tomorrow I hope to find a spacer and have it back into the car tomorrow. Son is at college, daughter is going to her BF party.. just me and the dog. I leave the door open and he sits in the car on the passanger seat watching me struggle.

my dog watches also. he won't get in though, he's too large to fit in the passenger seat.
