Well....seeing what I just paid to get the 4.0 heads on the TR8 I figured I better get serious about get her sorted out.

Here is the driver side floor pans - pictures make the rear look worse than it is. No serious rust that will be hard to fix.

The inner front captive nut for the seat track is gone - need to figure out how to fix that...

The front is worse than it looks - there is an actual hole. It looks like there was in impact there at some point which punched a hole in the floor that was already rust weakened. This is going to be a challenge!

Here are some more with the factory sound deadening removed. It came up easily, I used the SoCal sun to warm it and most of it peeled right up.

The area below is going to have to come out all together.

Rest looks OK, but I'll replace it anyway since it I think it will be easier that way

This a CA car?

Makes you wonder, no? Actually she was a Canadian import, and I found tall stalks of grass in her sills. SWEET, eh?

Anyway, I think she sat for a long time under less than ideal conditions.

Tom -

Check carefully the rearmost point on each side, as that's where the link to the rear suspension is. If you have that kind of rust on the floor, I'd be very concerned about that area. BIG potential for structural problems!

Thanks Mickey - I checked those before I bought her and they are OK still.I went after them with an aggressive wire brush an no issues so far. I'm planning on hitting it again and then coating in POR15.

Is there a reinforcing weld I should consider there?

Haven't seen any info about that. I know that there is a practice with TR6's, in order to reinforce a particular area of the frame. But as far as I know, the Wedge body, if not compromised by rust, is pretty stout.
