Wedge TR8 carb fuel pump

Has anybody ever tested one of these. My TR8 sputtered to a stop. First drive of the season,banged on it and got home. I dont have a gauge,but I pulled off the hose,ran the pump and it seemed to work OK. It had a bit of pulsing but never stopped,and filled the gas can. Anybody know what the pump stream should look like? The car,besides the fuel pump, ran great. Called my friend up,left a message(a lotus owner) who is looking for a new used sports car driver,(2 lotus's none drive)and suggested this time he get a "mans" car....He has not returned my call???
 
Check the fuel filter, or better yet, replace it, and try driving again! I had that happen to me last season.

What did you bang on? Do you have an aftermarket external pump?

The pulsing was probably from lack of back pressure. Fuel pressure is not high for these, only about 2.5 to 3.5 lbs.
