I'm considering upgrading my TR8s cam to a mild street version and have a quick question. Can the cam be replaced with the engine in the car or does the engine have to be removed. There doesn't appear to be alot of room in the front of the car to slide the the old cam out and the new cam in. All constructive comments and suggestions would be appreciated.

Hey, Scott -

I just had my front timing cover off to double check the cam timing. Once the fans and radiator are out, there's a fair amount of wiggle room. But unless you have a lift and room to stand under there, it would be very tricky. Pretty serious risk of nicking a bearing surface when installing the new one.

Ive been told not that hard if all is removed. Good winter project if you,in Chicago, has a heated garage.
