Wedge TR8 calipers?

I have 3 wedges.... The one with vented disc has a Lockheed England number 3245-816c is this a TR8 Caliper? It looks a fuzz bigger than the TR7 but I have not actually put them side by side.

No, TR8s came with solid 9.8" rotors that were slightly thicker than TR7 rotors. The calipers were much bigger and heavier. There is a fairly common bolt on upgrade using vented rotors and calipers off of some British truck. They are even heavier. Rimmer Bros sells the kit if you want to check the specs on it.

They are not vented after all. Just has a line down the middle. The rotor is 50% thicker than a stock 7 and very well could be 9.8". For sure closer to 10 than 9. Rotor is still on the car making it hard to be accurate.

Sounds like stock TR8 in that case. Now that I think about it, I do recognize that part number. Pretty sure last time I checked the ones on the shelf there were two numbers 3244 and 3245. Back in the day it was common to use Ford Capri calipers instead of the TR8 ones. They were almost identical except the Capri used the same pad as the 240z. 240z pads were 1/3 the cost of TR8 pads, and were available in more racing compounds. The fact that you could walk into just about any parts store and buy a set rebuilt for under $100 with no core charge was nice too. Sadly these things are mostly gone now, so finding them can be as difficult as finding TR8 calipers. But on the good side Willwood makes a great caliper and you can put together a big brake kit for the front using Willwood hats, rotors, and calipers for around $600.
