Wedge TR8 battery mounting

Does anyone have any pictures of the proper, factory mounting for the battery in a TR8 (1981, if it changed). I'm assuming that sitting on the floor of the boot, held by nothing other than the battery cables isn't correct. I'll probably just buy a plastic battery box and use some of the holes that are in that area to bolt it down, but just want to see what the factory used.

Also, how was the boot carpeted? I just have one big piece of some black material that covers everything, though it is mostly unattached right now.

No carpeting Darrell. Mat material.
On the 8 it went over top the battery.
I'll try to email you pics

I used a plastic battery box and built a base I bolted to the base to the holes already there.

Thanks. I picked up a cheap plastic battery box at WalMart, and will bolt it to the floor.

The mat goes across the floor, up the side and across the top of the battery. You can see the snap on the top of the battery frame for the mat.

There is a top frame with two "hooks" that drop down to the bottom tray on the right & left sides and hook into it. Tightened by the two nuts on top.

I see I need to clean mine up a little, but here it is installed:

I do not have a mat so I made a small, carpeted snap together box...call if you want to sell that mat
