Wedge TR7V8 frustration

I was suffering a knocking noise like DNK was experiencing, and coolant was being forced out the header tank.

I resurfaced the heads, replaced the head gaskets, replaced connecting rod bearings and rebuilt the oil pump. Fired it up and it ran beautifully. Good oil pressure, no lifter noise or other odd noises but the water pump decided to start leaking and sling coolant all over the place.

Of course, nobody stocks the part in store, so another week and I'll see what else needs attention.

I actually got my water pump (it was a few years ago) from NAPA and it took them only 2 days to get in.

You know, I did metion that the sound seems to emanate (sp?) from the front if you stand on the driver side and that would explain why it doesn't make noise until it warms up.

I shipped my waterpump to a shop in Portland that rebuilds waterpumps. Napa here couldn't get me one. When I got it off the bearings were pretty stiff, so it wouldn't have lasted much longer anyways.
