Wedge tr7 - tr8 throw out bearing carrier

Does anyone out there know the difference between the tr7 and the tr8 throw out bearing carrier? I know that the bearing is the same but the carrier is different, Any help would be great.

If the bearing is the same I would think that the length could be the major variation.Making it longer wont be as easy as getting it shortened up!!! My guess is that its like the starters, they say they are different and charge you more for the tr8 part when the difference is so slight and easily fixed that its really a bad joke!!!

Thanks for the reply, that is what i thought was the case but didn't know if anyone knew the difference.

The carrier is longer for the TR8's and comes as a one piece assembly with the bearing. Also new carriers are plastic.

Thanks for the info, i guess i have to buy one then, that is strange that they are made of plastic.

i bought mine at wedgeparts. brad said that he was looking for the old style (metal), but that rover only had the plastic ones. other suppliers might have old stock.

i checked theirs out but it seems that the uk ones are much cheeper, just out of curiousity what did you do for headers?

I bought a set from TSI and had them ceramic coated. Costs about $250 for coating, about $200 for headers.
