Hoping someone may be able to help...

I picked up a new top (hood) over the winter to replace the original one on my TR7, and unfortunately there were no instructions. Does anyone on the board know of any sites that explain (or even better illustrate) the installation? It looks fairly straightforward but there are some interesting folds, etc where it meets the header rail and where it rivets into it.
 
Checked my Bently manual, but it doesn't look like it's much help. However, I can email you the instructions from it if you want.

PS. Sounds like you got it nearly done. Still going to sell it?
 
The 7 is the easiest of the british cars to fix a new "hood" to. Put the rear part into place and simply finish up with the front last. Do this in a warm garage and with the bows NOT latched at the front, pull the top tight and tack it down with some 3M weatherstrip adhesive to hold it fast(till you can rivet down the retainer for the front screen seal). Once its glued down test latch the top to the screen, it should be easy to see if its "right", tighten if needed. Then rivet in the seal retainer last and put the weather strip into the retainer. Its a good idea to get a snap tool so the snaps can be set properly, dont worry if you trash a few we are all human!!!

I've heard the 7 is pretty easy to do...but the header part looks fairly confusing. I'm trying to examine the existing top and see how it alls goes together...but so far haven't found out for sure how to disassemble it. I see the two rivets on each side...so I know I'll have to drill them out...but I didn't know what else needed to be done.

I've already got snaps installed (predone) along the back so hopefully I'm in good shape there...

Yep, still planning to sell it this spring Rich. Quite bittersweet for me because after all that's gone into it. It's really turned into a beautiful car! After sitting all winter all I did was pop the battery in, turned the key and it fired right up. I took it for a decent drive today, and within 2-3 miles it was warm and running really well.

Unfortunately garage space is very limited and I'm about to start the process over on the MGB. Heading over to storage tomorrow to do plugs, ignition, coil, tune-up, and wheels on it, followed the next week with carb, header, and exhaust. Then I'll do interior work over the summer. I've got all the parts just waiting (I've accumulated them over the winter).
