Wedge TR7 tail light gasket

I need a quick gasket for my taillight lens for the 7 for a trip this weekend. Where can I get the gasket material to make one or what can I use?

Stock ones are foam so get some one side sticky foam and run it around the edges of the housing.

Home Depot carries "Foil and Foam duct insulation" that works really well for this sort of thing. It's wide enough to cut a solid gasket (rather than having to run a strip around). The foil helps hold the foam while you cut the shape you want (scissors or a utility knife) and then peels off easily.

While we are on the subject of TR7 tail lights, here is a little trick to make them look brand new. Wash the lenses very well with dish soap and a fingernail scrub brush, tooth brush. etc. Allow them to dry completely. Give them several light coats of clear acrylic spray paint on both sides. Do one side at a time and apply the coats one after another as soon as the previous coat starts to set up. When you are done, they will look brand new. The lenses are made from acrylic plastic, and the clear fills in all little pits in the lenses that gave the lens a cloudy appearance and scattered the light passing thru them.

I like the clear coat idea. I think this will work to get better reflectin of the light bulbs. Clean and paint the fixture with west Virginia chrome. The fixture is very dirty and the tail
lights seem dull.
