I just replaced my second starter in two years. I have a question for a tr7 owner...On your car, does the starter heat sheild go under the starter, or on the top of the starter...or are there two heat sheilds. When you look at mine from above, you see the soloniod and wire , with no covers. Is this correct? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

Not too sure, I installed one of the compact denso units a few years back, it really works great. I do not have any heat shielding. I would guess that the head sheild would go up since the exhaust manifold is above it. Best of luck.
