Wedge TR7 Spider for $500, but is it worth it?!?!

I found a TR7 Spider for $500 asking. It sounds like the woman who is selling it knows little about it (called it a 1980 Triumph Spider.) Evidently it was her ex-husband's or something, and it is missing a top, and has been sitting for seven years (and outside totally exposed for a couple years) after a small or "minor" electrical fire. I'm thinking no top+Seattle-area rain=rust, destroyed interior electricals and carpets/seats/vinyl.

Even at $150 or so, I'm guessing this car is toasted. It's a good two hours away, so I'm probably not going to go out to take a look at it. It's in Monroe,WA.

From what you described, I'd probably agree with the roasted, toasted eval. A few pictures would really help you decide whether the 2 hour trip would be at least worth a look....

Its toast, a parts car at best.

She's sending pix tomorrow. With my TR7 gone, I just felt like I had to follow up on this.

Must......resist......pull.......of.......cheap.......LBC!

Man thats great. Sammy just cleared out a few cars and he's already well on the way to refilling those empty spots in the driveway. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif This car sounds like a bit of a basket case though, might be more trouble than it's worth unless your in the mood for an extensive rebuild.
