Im recovering the seats in my 79 TR7, (what a wonderful design these silly things are. Anyway, I notices the straps for the back rest seem to be quite floppy after I remove the foam. Question is, have they stretched and need to be replaced? Or is this just the way they are supposed to be?

I can't say for certain, but I might just tear into my seats to-morrow and have a look.

Thanks for the offer, but Im doing fine as far as the recovering part goes, just seems to me that the overall design of the seats stinks. Got the drivers seat done and it looks great and is very comfortable too. I was just wondering about the backrest straps. When I disassembled the passenger seat, the straps (still installed) seemed floppy. I guess I didnt notice this on the drivers seat.
 
they shouldn't have any slack in them just sitting there, but they are flexible.

I'm replacing everything but the seat frames themselves.
 
Something that I found that you may want to look for. On both seats where the backrest joins the seat bottom on the outboard side my drivers seat frame had sometime in the past broken and bee repaired (such as it was) and on the passenger seat, was well on its way to breaking. Must be the way people get in and out of it.Id be interested if you found the same on yours.

Finished the drivers (most important) seat and wow, what a difference. Still waiting for the other (not quite so important) seat to get back from the welding shop.

I have replied to several emails and PMs and recieved notifications that the mail was not deliverable.

The email address you want it sent to generally should be your primary email address provided by your ISP, and needs to be capable of recieving a 1.6meg attachment to an email. Webmail services such as Hotmail, and others similar to it, will almost always reject emails with large file attachments.

Happy to send it out, but I need an address that won't bounce it.
