My brother has a TR7, says the fan clutch is going out, doesn't want to spend list for a new one, which I think is just a little south of $200, anybody have any alternatives or fixes for the clutch? I don't know TR7s as well, is this by chance a common part used on other vehicles, I know fan clutches were pretty common for cars of that era, before they all went electric.

Thanks MD, I know he already has a spare motor, so probably not the direction he wants to go. (sadly no fan clutch on the spare though)

Wedge Shop $160.00
Might even have a used one
Or ask Ted

I'm pretty sure that isn't a fan clutch, rather a viscous drive that limits the fan rpm. As I learned the hard way, it's a really bad idea to connect the fan directly to the crank (as a real clutch would do when it got hot).

Might be worth looking into an electric substitute.

you could try getting the ac fan assy and wire it in to a sensor and have electric fans that mount up to the frame instead of the radiator core.
