Wedge TR7 differentials...

last week there was a tr7 center section on ebay. the seller stated it was a 3.63 from an automatic tr7. seller also claimed it would fit spits and gt6's, is this true?
there is another wedge rearend listed for sale that's a 3.45.
who can give me the lowdown on wedge/gt6 interchangability?

Early TR7 diff "guts" are interchangeable, the 3.63 being the same ratio as that of the UK-spec. Spitfire 1500. I don't believe the later TR7/8 diff guts (Rover axle?) are interchangeable with Spit/GT, though.

Andy, when you say guts, do you mean just the ring and pinion?
Or can the whole center section be bolted into a gt6 pumpkin?

I'm not absolutely sure, but I do think the entire center section can be swapped in.
