Wedge TR7 alternator not charging the battery

No, I have not gone out and lost my sanity by buying a TR7.

A friend of my son's has one. He has a problem. But then I repeat myself.

OK, the problem is, it runs fine but the alternator (won't find one of those on my '3) is not charging the battery.

Alternator has been checked and its fine.

Anyone got any clues?

Clean the connections very well, at both the battery and alternator sides. If that doesn't work, have the battery checked.

is it not charging or maybe discharging the battery? I had an alternator that would discharge the battery if left sitting, but seemed to charge the battery when running. something to do with the regulator because when i disconnected the indicator lamp connection the battery remained charged. I ended up putting in a delco alternator off a 94(?) camaro. It is clocked right, but I had to put in heavier wiring to the battery (105 amps).
