Hello,
I have a 69 TR6. I am fairly sure this year had aluminum trim rings as original equipment. I lost one of my trim rings on my little cross country trip through Illinois yesterday (worst roads I have ever been on in my life!). My first question is how do you tell for sure if the trim rings are aluminum or stainless steel? I think my trim rings are "brushed" aluminum. What does "brushed" aluminum mean? To restore aluminum parts I have normally shaped, sanded, and then polished the piece. How do you duplicate the brushed aluminum finish on these rings? Any input would greatly be appreciated.
