Does anyone know a vendor or source for a rubber valve cover gasket for a TR6? Using a cork gasket and a cast aluminum valve cover requires a bit of finesse...

If your using the ribbed aluminum cover that Moss sells, they have a differant gasket that should be part of the package. I think it's from a healy but I'm not sure. I do know the stock cork gasket does not work, the corners are short. Even the replacement gasket they sent me just makes it. If they had any brains they would have grooved the base to accept an "o" ring style gasket. This is still possible if you want to make the investment & pay a machine shop. The "o" ring material is available at most marine supplies.
There was a manufacturer that produced a cover with the o ring gasket , Jim swartooth but I'm pretty sure his business practices left alot of customers pretty mad.

Hello all,
I have had an SAH aluminium rocker cover on car for many years and use the standard cork rocker cover gasket. None of the proprietary gasket sealers are very effective from a practical point of view (all will seal fine). But if, as I said earlier, you use contact adhesive to securely fix the gasket to the cover, it is easy to fit and I re-use the same gasket several times. It takes a little time to do but saves time in the long run and it doesn't leak.
