I have a fabulous looking Two Tone Midnight Blue and Silver July 1969 Petrol Injected right hand drive TR6.
Would any body else in the world have a two tone TR6 and if there out there - I'd love to get a photo of their trumpie so we can compare colours

Can you upload a picture? I'd love to see that. I had an 83 280ZX that same color combination, it's really beautiful!

Beautiful car. I've seen a few TR3s in 2-tone but I think this is the first TR6 I've come across.

WOW!!! OMG that is really pretty, especially with the wire wheels. My Z was the reverse, with the silver on the top and the blue on the sides, and the blue was not quite as dark.

I have a question, can you retrofit those front marker lamps to a US spec TR6 or is there a wiring difference? Also, I'm assuming the amber portion is the parking light, but is the clear portion the turn signal? I like those split lights alot.

I have to say, I don't like two tone cars, but that looks really nice. I bet a TR4 would look great with that chrome trim cutting the color. I wonder what Carmine would look good with?

Dotanukie, not a wiring problem. just a bit expensive, go to Ebay UK, seen a few for sale there. Set up PayPal first, as it is so much easier for the money transaction. Wayne
PS, nice colors on the 6, would like to see a complete side view before I can say, does it take away the lines?

Hey, thanks trrdster2000 for the tip on the lights, I'll be sure to check it out. I've got the paypal account already, which gets heavily used as I'm a bit of an ebay addict. I've never looked at the UK Ebay though, should be interesting.

Ive attached a few more ipg snaps of her. She basically is totally original having never been restored and the motor is untouched after 110,000 miles. She was repainted with Jaguar Midnight Blue and Silver in 1992. The only other restoration over the years was new canvas on the hood. She was sold in Melbounre Australia in December 1969, by Standard Triumph. The first owner got her for his 21st birthday and now lives in Tasmania. He took her for a drive recently and wants her back. But she not For Sale. My email is kevinfarley@optusnet.com.au If anybody has a two-tone TR6 would love some photos for my TR library.
If I cannot post any pictures on this reply will send a new topic

She still has the original steering wheel, which was originally black - and some of the black is still visable in the holes. The carpets, upholstery and trim is also original. Her number is CP26840 O
I can take a full side on shot later and post if anybody requests it.

Can anyone give me some clues as to how to display a photo under the tread text ? I've seen it on other treads so would like ro replicate
thanks Kevin

Kevin, Thanks for the extra picture, looks impressive. I will see if I can find you a few more two-tones. On the picture in the tread text, try going to your personnal info, hit edit and just follow the instructions. I had a problem myself, but the picture was to large 80 x 80 is the largest it will accept. If it still won't work contact Basil, he somehow finds time to help us all. Wayne

I like the TR4-TR250 style seats in the photo. Was that standard on early european bound TR6's? The color combo is very smart.

I like the two-tone finish far more than I thought I would. Who knows, with a car looking as good as yours you may start a trend! Let's see, the silver would not be bad with Carmine, alternatively a rich gold colour might be nice.

My understanding is that all 1969 TR6 PIs imported Australia Right Hand Drive the Trim Upholstey and Seats are the same as a TR5 P1
Door Trim had 4 Horizontal Bars and the rear cockpit trim had 19 vertical bars with the fabric being fine grain vinyl. Since 1969 only the seats have been recovered in the original colour. All the rest is original.
I'm assuming that also the European and British 1969 cars had "TR5" trim. It was changed in the 1970 models. Everything on my TR6 is from TR5 days except of course the body and the steering wheel.
Overall the only difference is the Karmen Body, anti-roll bar and 5 and half inch wire wheels (optional extra). A mate of mine has a un-restored March 1968 TR5 and his (other than above) is exactly the same as mine.
