TR6 TR6 Transmission

I am rebuilding a transmission I bought to swap out in a 75 TR6. Current counter shaft ones making terrible sound. When I pulled the top off to clean I had to drill out the plugs that hold the detent balls. Now I realize am unable to find replacements. All I know is Moss Motors for parts. I see that some had a screw in type plug instead of press in like I have. Is there a source where I can get the press in kind or do I need to see if I can get a machine shop to thread the holes and make me some screw plugs? If that the route I need to take I have some of the mangled plugs I removed I can measure so they can make them.

This is a reply found on the Triumph Experience:
--- If you want to use threaded plugs, pick up some at your local hardware store. Get the shortest 7/16 - 20 socket head cap screws available. You'll probably have to grind off some of the length. Do a trial on the effort necessary to shift the gears before replacing the top cover. I remember shortening the spring for the one that controls the reverse gear, just to make it easier.

There is a list of part supplier better than Moss. British parts Northwest. The Roadster Factory, Victoria British, Rimmer Bros, They all deal in TR parts and info and there are more. NOTE for Trans questions call Marty's ask for Ray 503-357-5640 say Andy from Reno sent you. Madflyer
