I rebuilt the entire suspension, brakes, and steering, but I sent out the rack itself to be rebuilt. I plan on getting a four way allignment shortly, but my question is how do I get the steering rack close so I can at least drive it in for the allignment? Should I torque the nuts at the end of the tie rod ends on the steering rack if the allignment guy will have to take it apart anyway?

Thanks, Kevin

You could probably get close enough using a length of wood and a marker pen. Just place it against the rear of the wheel and mark the outside of the tyre tread and then do the same at the front. You could then adjust it as best you can.
I would tend to tighten everything up as it is amazing how quickly a nut can undo!

A little late now Kevin, but how I did it on my Wedge change over to a manual rack.
I measured over all distance and from rod end to some equal point and then installed new to those specs
I also counted revolutions which get you pretty dang close
