Hi guys - presented for your amazement and fascination is the following TR6 front spring mystery.

Spring in the middle, hence forth known as "Spring #2", is what I took off the front of the '74 TR6.

Spring on the left, hence forth know as "Spring #1", was bought on eBay as part of a new set.

Spring on the right, you guessed it Spring #3, also bought on eBay from the same seller Spring #1. Came in an opened bag marked as Front. Spring was made in Taiwan

Measurements are as follows;

Spring #1 11.5 inches tall +/-

Spring #2 10 inches tall +/-

Spring #3 8.75 inches tall +/-

Here is how she sits on Spring #2 that I removed

Question #1 - one of the new springs should be for the rear. Which one do you think it is?

Question #2 - recommendation on sticking with Spring #2 to reinstall vs going with the new one.

Thanks!

td I have a used set of front and rear springs with the following measurments. Rear is 11 1/4 x 2 3/4 inch ID. Front is 10 1/4 x3 inch ID.
Looks to me like the new front you have may be for the one inch lower ride height

Hi Casey & Doug - thanks for the measurements and eyeballing the springs.

I went and checked and here is what I came up with by spring;

Spring #1 Inner Diameter (ID) = 2.75 +/-
Spring #2 ID = 3 +/-
Spring #3 ID = 3 +/-

So that seems to confirm your hunch that shortest one, Spring #3, is a lowered front one.
