Heya:

'73 TR6, I had the seats out to clean up things. Time to put them back in. Here's the thing:

The seat tracks don't mount parallel to the body--or they appear not to. They angle towards the center of the car.

The seats themselves have two possible mounting holes.

Am I to use one forward hole (on one side of the seat), and one rear hole (on the other side) to make the seat set 'straight'? Or just pick The forward or rear holes and go on?

The seats are angled toward the center of the car and there's a specific right and left seat (only an issue if you're re-upholstering them). Here's how the tracks are bolted to the seats for my car: the track bolts at the front to the rear bracket hole for the tranny tunnel side and the front bracket hole for the door side.

The seats do look...non-symmetrical, as they sit on the garage floor. I was going to mount them so that the 'controls' are outboard.

Sounds like my initial feeling, that seemed so wrong, is right. The tracks are angled, but the seats are bolted (using the front hole on the outboard side, and the rear hole on the inboard side) to make the overall affect appear straight.

I'd like to say that I'm surprised that none of my manuals address this. I'd like to say that. :wink:
