What is the name of the bar that is bolted to the top of the rear bumper and was it a dealer installed option?

It was called a "bumper guard", made by AMCO, and available from Triumph dealers. It is listed in a small booklet titled "approved accessories" 1972 edition, part #V631. There was also a similar part for the front bumper.
