I rebuilt my horns about a year ago and cleaned all of the grounds, and they have been working great. I have a new problem, however. Whenever I push hard on the steering wheel, like on a hard turn pulling from the parking lot, the horn goes off half the time. Any ideas on how to correct this anyone?

You are likely grounding against the horn plate or whatever they call that thing in the steering column. Likely suspect is worn steering bushings, new bushings in the steering column will help. Also, if you loosen the center column you may be able to pull the steering wheel out slightly from the column and that may stop the short. On my TR4, there is a clamp right by the firewall in the engine bay that lets you do that.

Or it could be the purple wire is chafed where it goes under the steering column.

I had mine start blasting at 1:30am in the apartment parking lot, one time. It was shorting occasionally, like you described- then it must have shorted due to temperature change/contraction. I remember it being a cold night.

After that, I fixed the wire, but also changed the wiring of the horn relay to be only powered when the ignition (or it might be the ACC) is on....
